Michael Pecirno
Sustainable Futures Lead, Hassell
Michael Pecirno is Sustainable Futures Lead at Hassell, a global architecture and design practice, where he focuses on transitioning the built environment towards circular and regenerative outcomes. He specialises in urban-scale climate challenges, working with the people and systems involved to make cities and places resilient to a changing climate.
Trained as an architect, Michael pairs long-range foresight with a designer's instinct for making the abstract tangible, turning complex challenges like climate risk and material circularity into strategies and tools that change how we design and build. Before Hassell, he spent a decade across architecture, research, and design at Foster + Partners, Fjord, and Takram, exploring how the places we live and work must adapt to the climate and biodiversity crises. Michael's work has been featured in Wired, Gizmodo, and The Washington Post, and exhibited internationally.
